About

Hello. I'm Pechalada Sripoirung, also known as Pearl. I'm an animator, webcomic artist, and small business owner for Comic and anime conventions.
My sole focus is to work on sequential art, such as storyboarding for television and films.
Animation is something I've always had a passion for ever since I was a child as well as admiring sequential works. I'm currently working on a personal animation project called Star Boy, a superhero comic a coming of age story about what happens when you're trying to understand yourself as you grow.

Podcast

Script

Hello, I’m Pearl, and here is my podcast about an animator that sparked my interest in animation. Once known for the animated short AM to the PM, JG Quintel is someone I aspire to be when it comes to being so persistent with his work. I’ve always been interested in Disney animation as a kid, but this animator is almost the core reason I want to work in TV shows. Quintel has been involved with Cartoon Network since the early 90’s when the short first debuted in the hit series O-Canada. It involves two guys in a gas station who got into some special candies that would transform them into his iconic original characters from the show Regular Show. He’s someone who’s persisted with his dream of being a showrunner for over 20 years before he could have a show of his own.Quintel has worked on multiple collaborations after his short film debuted in O-Canada, he’s worked on the Misadventures of Flapjack with other animators such as Alex Hirsch, Rebecca Sugar, and Pendelton Ward. Through working with others, he’s achieved his goal of working on his show Regular Show. Regular show is a sci-fi fantasy that revolves around an overdramatic version of JG Quintel’s life in college.

Reflections

I am someone who's passionate about animation and wanted to talk about my inspirational content creator, because of JG Quintel, I'm able to pursue my dream into my own individual project by starting from the bottom to getting to the top. I find my passion in watching imagery move as well as educating others with understanding the ways of animation and the process. Sure it would or could be a classic icon, but I want someone who's always been on my mind since his original short I grew up with as a kid. I want to be that inspiration for future children and teens who aspire for great creative works that exist in today, similar to 90's or early 2000's television.

Walter Jarquin
https://www.walterjarquin.com
For Walter's website I wish there was a bigger introduction of the art pieces in a gallery to start us off. There's a lot of blank space in the website, and I'd want to be introduced to the images first, than a quick bio.
Overall, I enjoy the simple execution of the website since it's mostly images, I think it'd be good to see the images without clicking through them since I'd want to search through the gallery in a few minutes in a busy setting.

Vylan Tran
https://vylantran13.wixsite.com/my-site-2
Vylan's website is blank, so I'd want to see images or something that would greet me the instance I enter the website such as a gallery to figure out what she wanted to showcase. The storyboards are misleading since it lead me to character design instead of the assumed storyboards. Overall I do enjoy that the website is clean, but definitely want to see some improvements on it.

Jose Angelo Miguel Ocampo
https://www.jammoart.com/
For Jose's website, enjoy seeing the reel happen first. The gallery is very simplified and laid out well. I wish there was more, but I'm aware of how difficult 3d works are.

Duna Filoseta
https://www.dunafiloseta.com/
Duna's biography is extremely clean and polished. I enjoy how organized it is and what type of artwork she showcases.
